‘It's a fast track into the creative body, into the intuitive body. The more we are in our intuitive bodies, the more we will hear what work we need to make and how we need to make it.'

This workshop is an exceptional five-day journey into the whole landscape of your creative practice. Now in its 5th year, this popular course evolves with each cohort as we push deeper into our practice and discover new ways to help you reconnect with your creative potential.

Based in beautiful rural Devon on the Dartington Hall Estate, away from the distractions of everyday life, we will provide a space to challenge each other and reflect on what is important to us. We have designed the course exactly the way we would have done if we were attending it. During the five days, you will put down your creative tools and access your imagination. You will be supported to inhabit your creative body through writing, experiential collaborative group work, play, wild swimming, poetry, and calling in the owls.

The work is challenging and demands that we meet ourselves and address what is holding us back from our full potential. We ask first and foremost that prospective attendees arrive with a willingness to do strong interpersonal work a group setting.

'Creativity is the path to wellness. It’s our libido, it’s our vitality, it’s all of it. It’s where we hold our passion'

You will be inspired to move your practice into an exciting new space, to relinquish the need for validation as we turn inward. Through fear, we habitually limit our potential. This course is designed for us to step into our courage and get beneath what drives our practice. The more we are in our intuitive bodies, the more we will hear what work we need to make and how we need to make it. Through Sian’s work with the territory of reconnection, this course will allow and encourage a deeper relationship with our creative selves. We will work together to enable each of you to locate personal narratives and ignite meaning and rebirth purpose in your work. Expect to work hard; the workshop will be tough, but it will also inspire our practice in ways we cannot imagine and will give the artist in us a chance to reveal itself working within a collaborative, nurturing community.

We will not be looking at past work or teaching you techniques of any kind (that’s the easy stuff), but we will uplift your creative selves and lead them to a better place so they can be known more fully and thrive. We will look deep into your practice anxieties and clear hidden negative narratives that hold you back. Over the five days, we will use nature to reconnect with our primordial way of seeing, uninhibited from personal ambition. Our aim here is to loosen the grip of the human world on the psyche and the imagination, fostering a deeper connection with the wild within as well as without.

The first days are dedicated to group work where we will create a democratic space for an in-depth, personal inquiry into our whole creative selves. This is the tough bit. On the second night, you will walk along the river in the dark with Tom Wigston. The walk is designed to get you out of your thinking minds and into your imaginative bodies. It’s really fun, he’s amazing, and he even calls down the owls. After having completed the group work, you will be ready to narrate your personal experience in a day-long poetry and writing workshop. During this day, you will find the writer within you and be ready to have your voice heard. After demand from previous alumni, we have added an additional day to the workshop. We will use this final day to conclude what is a very intense process and spend it open-water swimming, with sauna, mineral scrubs, conversation, and defining what it is that you will take forward in your practice.
